It began in 1992 with a single shelf of imported French wines in a small room in Civil Lines, Jalandhar. Gurharvinder Singh Alphamed had just returned from a trip to Europe, carrying with him not just bottles but a conviction — that the people of Punjab deserved access to the world's finest drinks.
What started as a personal passion quickly became a community institution. Neighbours, then friends, then strangers began arriving at his door asking for recommendations. By 1998, The Cellar had its first proper shopfront on Lawrence Road.
Today, ALPHAMED BOTTLES stocks over 500 bottles — from Grand Cru Burgundy to Krug champagne, from Macallan 18 to our beloved Punjab Di Shaan desi daaru range. The passion has never changed. Only the shelf has grown.

The First Bottle
Gurharvinder Singh Alphamed opens a small wine import business from his home in Civil Lines, Jalandhar — with a single shelf of French reds and a passion for fine drinking.
The Cellar is Born
The first dedicated retail cellar opens on Lawrence Road. Word spreads quickly — Jalandhar finally has a serious wine shop.

We expand into premium Scotch whiskies, single malts and imported spirits, becoming Punjab's most comprehensive fine drinks destination.
Champagne & Prestige Cuvées
ALPHAMED BOTTLES becomes the first retailer in the region to stock Dom Pérignon, Krug and Cristal — bringing true prestige champagne to Punjab.
